nyheter365 had a record month on Facebook during August. In total, the company’s various sites and languages had almost 900 million video views. During the same period, Newsner was also behind the world’s most viral Facebook video, which accounted for nearly 200 millions views alone.
According to Social Media Monitoring Tools Newswhips, from Spike, Newsner has four videos on the top 20 list of the world’s most interacted Facebook posts in August.
“It may seem a bit unreal when you see these numbers, but behind them is hard work from our entire editorial team and a real will to tell stories that are relevant,” said Johan Rikner, CEO, nyheter365.
In total, the number of video views totaled 886 million across 27 Facebook pages, which nyheter365 operates in 11 languages.
In Sweden, nyheter365’s titles Newsner, A Good Laughter, the Sports Bible and the Food Bible had a total of 70 million video views on Facebook in August.
“Right now, we make some of the world’s most shared videos on Facebook. It’s fun that we, who are relatively small from Sweden, can compete internationally, even though we have a some way to go match the biggest, such as NowThis, which gets approximately 2.5 billion video views on all its platforms every month – but of course that is what we’re aiming for,” said Johan Rikner.
The success also means an even bigger focus on video for nyheter365, who is looking for three new video actors that can begin immediately.
