Exciting times are happening for Snapchat in Q1 2025. The platform is launching a brand-new ad placement in one of the app’s most frequently used tabs. Learn more about the new features for Snapchat and why your company should consider Snapchat in your media mix.
Snapchat is launching a new ad placement called Sponsored Snap. This ad placement appears in the chat feed, which 92% of all Snapchat users regularly use.

Per Christian Strand Teslo, Head of Sales, Snapchat Sweden
Morten Maaetoft, Product Owner for Snapchat in N365, is very excited about the newest features on Snapchat:
“Sponsored Snap offers a great opportunity to extend your reach and connect with your target audience where they are most active. It allows much higher visibility and engagement among the users, and it ensures advertisers can connect with users in their most active space without being intrusive”.
Per Christian Strand Teslo, Head of Sales in Sweden, shares his enthusiasm and the possibilities with Sponsored Snap:
“We’re always looking for ways to help advertisers connect with Snapchatters in a way that adds value to their experience. Sponsored Snaps meet our community where they already are, delivering relevant visual content in a way that feels natural to the app. By seamlessly integrating creative, targeting, and measurement, we’re making it easier than ever for brands to connect with their audiences in meaningful ways while maximizing their return on investment”, he says.
How Sponsored Snap works:
- The snap appears unopened in the chat feed (no push notifications)
- If the user chooses to open it, a full-screen ad will appear. Users can engage by sending a message directly to the advertiser via the CTA button
- If left unopened, it disappears naturally, maintaining a seamless user experience
Lens Studio 2.0
Besides the new feature, Snapchat has also rebuilt the Lens Studio with the possibility to build more robust, advanced AR (=augmented reality) experiences.
Snapchat is making AR creation more approachable with their new tool, Easy Lens. This makes it possible to build Lenses in just minutes via a chat interface.
“We’re pushing Lens technology forward by enabling a wide range of experiences—from real-time 3D AR and generative AI transformations to Bitmoji scenes and games. With a rebuilt Lens Studio, developers and brands can create more advanced AR together, while Easy Lens makes AR creation more accessible, allowing anyone to build Lenses in minutes” says Per Christian.
Snapchat will also roll out new GenAI Suite features in Lens Studio, where AR creators will find new tools including Animation Blending, Body Morph, and Icon Generation.
“The Lens Studio is an incredibly unique platform, and I’m excited to see how it enables us to create more powerful and engaging Lenses for our clients. With these new tools, we can build experiences that not only enhance brand value but also drive deeper interaction and connection with users in a seamless and innovative way,” Morten Maaetoft, Product Owner for Snapchat in N365.
